Carnival of the Green #13

The thirteenth spinning of the carnival wheel is happening at The Eco Street Blog, Carnival of the Green #13. Nice how that rhymes, huh?

As usual, it's full of fine articles on subjects ranging from conservation to technology to my favorite of this carnival, a foodie post. Not just any foodie post, one that shows the connection between what we eat and fossil fuels. No, this would not be sautee-ing your veggies in sweet crude - it's Oil in Our Food (That ain't canola, or olive) from a blog that's new to me, Simply in Season. The piece doesn't start out sounding like it has a thing to do with fossil fuels, so persist in your reading, you'll see. Some very interesting new sites in the carnival, my list of green blogs and sites is growing every week.

One note of interest - the Evangelical Ecologist's article in this carnival is worth reading, to see what has come of the much-vaunted "creation care" stance announced last year by the National Association of Evangelicals. They have decided to do "the adult thing" and take no stance at all on global warming. The Evangelical Ecologist approves of this position, which has caused the Green Carnival editor to give him the "Ostrich of the Week Award." After reading his post I think you may agree that he richly deserves it.

FEATURED QUOTE

"It is the logic of our times
No subject for immortal verse
That we who lived by honest dreams
Defend the bad against the worse."
