The New Big Lie

This will be short, if not-so-very sweet. I have to think that Bush's latest lame attempt to make the American people think he is actually doing something to stop terrorists from attacking this country is just one more half-baked lie piled atop a mountain of lies concerning the security of our country as handled by the current administration.

Sorry, George. I'm not buying it. IF what you say is true, that through your efforts LA was spared a terrorist attack in 2002, you would have blasted it all over the news immediately, four years ago. It would have been a hallmark of the '04 Republication Convention in New York City. Every one of your lame-o talking heads on Fox News and on conservative talk radio shows would have been yapping about it for years.

And please don't insult my intelligence by handing me the bull that it was sensitive, high-security privileged information. When has that ever stopped your people from spilling the beans? The '04 election was too close a call for you or your handlers to have suppressed it. No, news like this would have been too sweet for you to keep it a secret.

You would have stuttered, "See! See! We did it! We told you we'd do it and we did!" You would have been too excited to stop dancing and you would have given yourself and everyone on your staff a medal. So now, four years later, you expect me to believe, with only half the story told and none of it verified, that you indeed did it?

Fat chance, George. You might as well tell me you believe gay marriage is good for America. At least that would be the truth.
