Winning hearts and minds in Pakistan

The PR disaster of the Pakistan trip is a decisive and sad reflection on the complete failure of Bush at public diplomacy in the Muslim world, at a time when nothing is more important to US security and goals abroad.

What? Don't people in Pakistan watch FOX News to hear how great a leader and friend of the Muslim world Bush is?

Maybe we can beam in Fox and the Rush Limbaugh program through the Pentagon's latest brilliant idea, "scatterable media".

Of course, while we're at, we should follow William Arkin's advice and "should ask ourselves what is it that we are trying to say and then whether it is a message that people who don't want to be like us really even want to hear.".
