Blogging While Thinking

Kate/A/Blog has tagged us with a meme which is also an award - The Thinking Blogger Award. The Blue Voice is most grateful to be thought of as a place where actual thought processes still operate and is happy to pass this award on to five other blogs which deserve it. If you choose to continue the meme, here are the rules of the game:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think

.2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.

3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote.
Our candidates for this cool award are as follows:

War and Piece (Laura Rozen. Laura is an investigative journalist who writes on national-security and intelligence affairs. She mostly provides links to good-quality stories in her areas of interest and often provides helpful context in her commentary. She also provides a regularly-updated list of her published articles, which appears in various publications.

Psyche, Science and Society The subtitle is, "Blog of Stephen Soldz: Psychoanalyst, Psychologist, Researcher, and Activist"Soldz provides social and political commentary, with a perspective that combines a liberal outlook with psychoanalytical insights. He has gives particular emphasis to news stories touching on the psychiatric and psychological professions, such as the ethics of health personnel participation in military interrogations.

Sustainablog, Jeff McIntire-Strasburg's Sustainablog is dedicated to news, information and personal meanderings related to environmental and economic sustainability, green and sustainable business, and environmental politics

The Low-rent Correspondent (formerly Tales from the Chickenbus) News, views and travel stories from Mexico, including Guadalajara, Chapala, Ajijic, San Miguel de Allende and Mexico City. David Agren is a Canadian journalist now living and working in Guadalajara, Mexico. His writing, which covers everything from politics to tequila, appears regularly in The Herald Mexico (a joint publication of El Universal and the Miami Herald).

Talk to Action A group blog focusing on religion and politics, with well-informed and critical-minded commentary on the Christian Right. With people like Jim Wallis having persuaded Democratic consultants to pitch what Wallis calls a "Christian left" line that in practice often translates into hopeless pandering to voters who will never vote for Democrats, Talk to Action helps provide a more realistic liberal perspective. Or, to put it another way, the blog provides a more authentic "Christian left/liberal" perspective than the Wallis-inspired consultants.

FEATURED QUOTE

"It is the logic of our times
No subject for immortal verse
That we who lived by honest dreams
Defend the bad against the worse."

-- Cecil Day-Lewis from Where Are The War Poets?
