SnakesIs there anything else that the Bush Administration can do that will shock me? I mean after the manipulation of intelligence, pre-emptive war, illegal detention, and torture, what else is there that could possibly be worse? I've been feeling kind of numb after living through the last six years of this dark period in American history, thinking that we are on the road to recovery, and the worst is over, and then comes the Walter Reed scandal. And while it's not a sin as grievous as the war, this scandal reveals Bush and Cheney, and the Republicans as the low-life snakes that they truly are.Think about it. Not only do the Republicans send these poor soldiers into an unnecessary war with not enough troops to contain a state the size of Rhode Island, but they send these kids into a clusterf#%k without proper body armor or vehicles to get the job done safely. When the kids get home without some of the body parts that they enlisted with, the Pentagon out-sources their medical care to a former Halliburton CEO for a measly $120 million. Now if you think about all of the money the American taxpayers have already forked over for this clusterf#%k, $120 million is nothing. And when I think about all of the times that the Administration has accused anti-war Americans of being soldier-hating leftists, I could just puke. All of the times Bush and Cheney had photo ops in front of American soldiers, they were selling them down the river to Halliburton for a song. And when the fall guy, Maj. Gen. George Weightman, who was fired as head of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, was asked to testify in front of Congress, the Army refused to allow the testimony. It's our good fortune that the Democrats are in the majority now, and there is still such a thing as a subpoena. With a little luck, and a Democratic majority, these snakes in government will be forced from under the rocks of lies that they have been hiding under. Tags: Walter Reed
