Anarchism 101 Lesson #4The latest lesson on anarchism walks through the Russian Revolution of 1917. Much of what can be learned, of course, is how not to have a revolution. History has much to teach us. Violence. Establishing a new and lasting order can't get away from the problems of violence. Yet I tend to believe that Emma Goldman was right when she said that good organization negates the need for violence. Think about that for a moment. It's actually possible for us to establish a completely new system of things. Why? Because we are the super-majority, folks. "WE" represent anywhere from 80% to 99% of the population, depending on how you figure it. If none of us go to work tomorrow, what are they going to do? We are a powerful force. We just need to be organized.Technorati Tags: anarchism Russian Revolution | +Save/Share | | |
