Holding Our BreathSurely it's tomorrow now in Norway? That is to say, Friday October 12? I, along with many others, am waiting to hear whether Al Gore, together with Inuit activist Sheila Watt-Cloutier, has won the Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition for their efforts to put the danger posed by climate change on the global political agenda. They are being given a three to one chance of this happening. I feel kinda like I did as a kid waiting for that big December 25th morning to arrive. The internet and the political world are abuzz with speculation on this. If he wins the Nobel Prize, will he finally give in the wave of fervent hope that he will get back into the political arena and declare as a presidential candidate? Would that even be a good thing? Can he do more for the environmental future in his current incarnation as the Cassandra of global warming than as president of the USA? I certainly don't know, but I love a good cliffhanger. I may even check in on the news during insomnia episodes tonight. And here's someone who has that Night Before anxiety a lot worse than I do, check this out!
