Richardson Endorses Obama![]() According to an AP report, Gov. Bill Richardson will appear with Barack Obama today at a campaign event at 12:30 PM PST in Portland, Oregon to formally endorse him for president. Democracy for New Mexico has the complete text of Richardson's eloquent and moving message that was emailed to his supporters at 1:10 AM explaining the Governor's decision. It appears to have been Obama's speech in Philadelphia this past week that gave Richardson the impetus to make and announce his decision. I don't know how much impact this will have on Obama's campaign, but I have to say it does go a good ways towards helping me agree with my partner that it's time to get an Obama campaign sign to join Tom Udall's in our yard. I've been sitting on the fence much like Richardson myself ever since Edwards dropped out of the running. Update: Jane Hamsher at the blog firedoglake has something interesting thoughts on this endorsement, given earlier remarks of Richardson's and the fact that, by a very slim margin, the state Democratic caucuses voted for Hillary.
