It's Official: Obama/Biden '08News outlets have been reporting it for a while, but I was waiting for confirmation from the campaign, which it now has. Text messages have been rolling out since 3:00 A.M. EST. I don't like all of Biden's positions -- just as I don't like all of Obama's -- but overall he's a good choice compared to the others (Bayh, Kaine, Sebelius). He brings a lot to the ticket: foreign policy experience, working class creds, gravitas and last but not least, the ability and willingness to come out swinging. A.P. Bureau chief and McCain surrogate wannabe Ron Fournier says it shows Obama's "lack of confidence". Wrong. It shows Obama is confident and smart enough to pick a running mate who fills in his perceived weaknesses and balances him out, making for a more formidable ticket. More reactions at Memeorandum.
