What Country Do I Live In?I'm not really listening to the political news these days, the primaries just about drove me crazy, and I vowed that I would avoid the political pundits for the rest of the season. I feel much calmer, not having to listen to the daily stupidity of the mainstream media, and I mostly just cruise the headlines of my browser to get the news on the Presidential race. So last night, I came upon this headline:Polls show McCain-Obama tie. What? How can this be true? I mean Obama was just last week nearly elected President of Germany and France, while McCain looked feeble and confused when asked simple questions by reporters. I was thinking that Obama would get a huge jump in the polls, I mean how can Americans fail to see that John McCain has no idea how to lead this country, and certainly not in troubling times like today? Are the polls wrong? Did Obama's move to the middle upset Democrats? This election should be a walk in the park for Democrats, and Obama should have a comfortable lead. What is wrong with the voters in this country? Electing John McCain in November would be a bigger mistake than electing Bush in 2004. The fragile state of the economy, and the bleak outlook for the environment are huge issues that will challenge the brightest minds in the country for the next decade. The mess we will have to clean up from the Republicans will take years, the country has fallen into such an economic and moral state of disrepair, and it will take all of our effort and energy to bring this country back from the brink of collapse, before we even begin to think about moving forward. Electing John McCain would be a mistake that America may never recover from. Obama, with his vision of hope, his new ideas, his promise of change, is the only way forward for our country. This country that I live in, must make the best decision for the future, and prepare for the difficult work of the next decade. The choice is obvious. | +Save/Share | | |
