I Want My $85 Billion Back

Let's say you were in a situation where you desperately needed to borrow money, to save your business, or your home. I mean the situation was dire, right? You were about to sell your car, the kitchen table, the TV, even your kid's bikes, and then someone lends you the money. Would you pay off your bills, or would you go to a spa?

AIG went to the spa.

According to the receipt from the St. Regis, the eight-day company retreat was a lavish one -- $139,000 was spent on hotel rooms, while even more money -- $147,301 -- was spent on banquets. Another $23,380 was spent on undisclosed spa treatments and another $6,939 was spent on golf. A full $9,980 was spent on room service and food and cocktails at the hotel lounge.

So if you're someone who is about to lose your home, and not able to re-finance, because nobody has the money to lend you, maybe you're pretty pissed right now. Maybe you could have paid off your whole mortgage with half of what AIG spent at the spa. Or maybe you're just a regular person who doesn't even have a house, because you couldn't afford one, and you have absolutely nothing to do with this huge mess we're in right now, and you don't get to go to the spa.

AIG said that the spa trip was standard practice in the industry. Okay, maybe for companies that are well run, and don't have to borrow my freakin money to stay in business!!!!

And that's not the last of it people. AIG is getting more of our money. Only $35 billion this time, so maybe they can only spend 4 days at the spa. Our lawmakers are going to drain every last cent out of this economy, before this is through. Bend over and empty your pockets guys, the looting has just begun.
