Bad dream, getting worse

Great. We went to war in Afghanistan way back in 2001 to strike Al Qa'ida. We've been there for years fighting the Pushtun guerrilla groups we call the "Taliban", whether or not they're related in any meaningful way to the Taliban government we ousted in 2001, much less to Al Qa'ida.
