George Lakoff on what conservatives really wantGeorge Lakoff, the guru of message framing, writes in What Conservatives Really Want 02/19/2011:[D]eficits are not what really matters to conservatives. The Republican Party fights to make the goals of their base a reality. Way too many leaders in the Democratic Party thinks the best politics for themselves is to dump on their base voters as often as they can. The elements of the liberal-progressive outlook are far more appealing to most voters than the ugly dystopia that conservative politics in the US today offer the majority of people. The Democrats need to do a much better job of defending their own constituents' views. Tags: democratic party, george lakoff, republican party | +Save/Share | | |
