Jerry Brown: a Democrat who fights - and fights Republicans

This is Gov. Jerry Brown's brief report from this weekend on his effort to get the Republicans in the state legislature to pass a balanced budget, which is formally due Wednesday, today. I don't like the cuts Jerry has proposed. And I believe him when he says that neither does he. But Jerry is willing to put the blame for obstructionism on the Republicans, as we see here.



Jerry also here takes account of California's more-than-awkward, semi-plebiscatory form of democracy and frames the Republican opposition as denying the people their rightful say on a critical issue.

In this video from March 29, he explained how the Republicans are acting as total obstructionists. It also says more about his budget proposal. Jerry is even willing to set the greed of billionaire corporations against the needs of school children and ordinary people.
