SOS to the Minutemen

The anti-immigrant group Save Our State (SOS) have enlisted the help of the Minuteman Project to protest a mural in Baldwin Park that they claim has "seditious anti-American language."

This will be the second time the people of SOS have went to protest this mural. The last time these racist thugs showed up without about 20 people they were met by a group of nearly a thousand people from Baldwin Park and the surrounding area who want the mural to stay. I wrote about it here.

Tensions are rising. The last time the Minutemen gathered in Garden Grove one of their supporters ended up running down a number of protesters in his van. Click the picture below to read more (that's one of the victims).



The tension can also be seen on a number of different sites. One SOS/Minuteman supporter had these angry comments to share with the people over at Indymedia:

Baldwin Park is a nest of illegal Mexican invaders.
It does not matter what
happens at Baldwin Park.
What matters is what is happening all across
America.
We are just waiting for the ultimate moment. The ultimate moment to
unleash this fury of hate and rage. This hate and rage we have been caring
around since the last great betrayal. That betrayal was, the amnesty of 1986.

On Saturday June 25th members of SOS and the Minuteman Project will descend upon the good city of Baldwin Park to protest a mural they neither understand nor appreciate. If you live in the LA area, I urge you to join me and the people of Baldwin Park as we say no to these racists.
