The City We've LostJust wanted to give this link to Anne Rice's lovely paean to the city she mourns, Do You Know What It Means to Lose New Orleans?, from yesterday's NYT. If you read Rice, you know that she's used the city as the setting of many books, it's home to the vampires and ghosts that inhabit her mind. She gives us a glimpse of the history that made this city what it was, of the human characteristics as well. It gave me goose bumps, it made me cry. Please read it, you will also probably weep.| +Save/Share | | |
