Cynical and Pernicious FalsehoodsCartoon by Matt Davies, at Slate.com According to National Review Online, Dick Cheney is giving a speech tonight to a group called Frontiers of Freedom. The VP is joining the battle against those who would re-write history. Gee -- I think he means me....and probably you too! The kind of godless America-hating people who think Bush lied in order to start the war -- or as Cheney says "a few opportunists". The fact that 57% of America share this view is no impediment to Cheney's argument. Roughly 180 million "opportunists", I guess... By the way, don't you love how the guys who lied to get us to send the Troops into Iraq are now lecturing us about subjecting our Troops to "cynical and pernicious falsehoods"? What a creep. What a useless piece of shit. If I were Bush I would fire this jerk before he does any more damage. Compared to Cheney, Brownie really was doing a heck of a job. Here's an excerpt of his planned remarks, as leaked to National Review: The saddest part is that our people in uniform have been subjected to these cynical and pernicious falsehoods day in and day out. American soldiers and Marines are out there every day in dangerous conditions and desert temperatures – conducting raids, training Iraqi forces, countering attacks, seizing weapons, and capturing killers – and back home a few opportunists are suggesting they were sent into battle for a lie. | +Save/Share | | |
