Good Days, Sunshine

At the end of my optimistic two-part post "Tremendous Opportunity Ahead - Part 1 and Part 2," I mentioned that later I'd be posting some links to more solar information. It's taken a while to get to it - but I'm finally here. I, myself, am a total solar novice, so this information is going to start with the basics. Anyone who can provide more helpful links is welcome to leave pointers in the comment thread.

• A place to begin to get a grip on the basics is Facts About Solar Energy. They don't waste any words, it's not a textbook - but it did answer some of my questions.
• Solar Energy Magazine has a series of short articles with titles like: "How Does Solar Energy Work?" and "About Solar Energy Panels," which I found moved my understanding up a notch.
• If you find yourself getting serious about the subject, really wanting to delve in and get technical, solarenergy.com has a page of books and videos to fulfill your every dream.
• The American Solar Energy Society is "a national organization dedicated to advancing the use of solar energy for the benefit of U.S. citizens and the global environment. ASES promotes the widespread near- and long-term use of solar energy.
• They also publish the wonderful Solar Today magazine, which " covers all solar and renewable energy technologies, from photovoltaics to climate-responsive buildings to wind power and biomass. Regular topics include building case studies, energy policy and community-scale projects."
