Doing the Antler DanceAh Neil, you stinker, you beat me to the good news. I no longer believe in any permanent good news, but I'll take temporary glad tidings for now. Those senators want to get the heck out of Washington and head home to the spiked eggnog, just like everyone else. What I want readers to know is that we mainly have Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington state to thank for this determined Senate stance against passing the Defense Appropriations bill with the Arctic drilling provision attached.I wrote my Senators last night, called their offices this morning, I hope everyone else did the same. Now it's time to find out how they voted, thank them if they held the line against drilling, excoriate them if they didn't. You can also join a MoveOn.com letter of thanks to Senator Cantwell for her valiant fight for the Arctic, here, or you can send her one of your own. Later the same day: Here, just in, is an easy way to find out how your senators voted, and send them a note of thanks if they voted against the Arctic drilling: NRDC Action Fund. | +Save/Share | | |
