Don't Know Much About Arithmetic, EitherOur President gave another speech today - at the World Affairs Council in Philadelphia, during which, according to the AP, he unexpectedly invited questions from the audience. He was immediately asked about the number of Iraqi casualties resulting from the more than two years of ongoing war. His answer:"I would say 30,000 more or less have died as a result of the initial incursion and the ongoing violence against Iraqis," the president said. "We've lost about 2,140 of our own troops in Iraq."Public estimates reported in the media. Perhaps we should send him the report published by The Lancet, the British medical journal, over a year ago, in which 100,000 deaths was the number reported. Guess he didn't hear that one. | +Save/Share | | |
