Without a prayer, let alone a planJust as we are aghast at the spectacle of an American Secretary of State failing to convince anyone that America is not heavily into torture (why else do we ship prisoners to Egypt and Sudan?), we are also astonished at the president's latest pretense. Where once we were faced with a pretend case for war, now we are asked to swallow a pretend "plan for victory".Rummy and Cheney are still peddling bullshit, and Bush is out front now trying to convince us he finally gets it. That he is finally ready to go for victory if we will just let him go for it. Have you read his plan for victory? I am amazed at how shallow this latest Bush pitch actually is -- mostly a set of platitudinous political assertions, along with recycled Vietnam-era lights at the end of the tunnel. Is anyone still listening to Bush and his bogus band of frat brothers? Meanwhile, Democrats are quivering in their boots. Maybe they went too far? Maybe they should just keep real quiet and wait this war out? Maybe they should distance themselves from Murtha, Pelosi, and Dean... Might be a good time to support a flag desecration amendment... Now wonder the friggin' Republicans are running the country. For all their incompetence, mendacity, greed, and bigotry, in the absence of an effective opposition, they can get away with murder. And torture too. | +Save/Share | | |
