Help Ted Rall Sue Ann Coulter

I've come upon this almost too late, but not quite. There's still time left to help Ted Rall go for a libel suit against Ann Coulter. You know Ted Rall, delightfully demented liberal cartoonist and columnist, yes? I'll bet you also know Ann Coulter, for whom I must confess adjectives fail me. Anyway...

Coulter reportedly said Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C.: "Iran is soliciting cartoons on the Holocaust. So far, only Ted Rall, Garry Trudeau, and The New York Times have made submissions." (Editor & Publisher, Ted Rall Says He Might Sue Ann Coulter for Holocaust Cartoon Remark)
Trudeau shrugged this crapulous remark off, but Rall was understandably so pissed off that he's decided to sue the bitch, if he gets enough support - both moral and financial - from his fans and readers. He sent this comment in to Editor and Publisher, explaining his position:

"It's one thing to mock people for their opinions and quite another to make opinions up out of whole cloth and stuff them into a person's mouth. That's what Coulter has done here. She has absolutely no reason to believe that I am sympathetic to the Iranian government, a Holocaust revisionist or denier, or anti-Semitic. She has no reason to believe that I am less patriotic than any other American. Opposing the Bush administration does not make you anti-Semitic, pro-Iran, or anti-American, and no one has the right to equate them as she did before a large high-profile audience that included Dick Cheney. She has the right to attack me for what I say, do, and believe -- not to lie."
What a fun occasion this must have been, a "high-profile audience that included Dick Cheney" being regaled with political commentary by Ann Coulter. Yow, fright night! Anyway, if you'd like to help Rall scrape together $6000 to file this suit, go to his blog, read this entry and all its updates. If you can send him a fast ten bucks, even better. We could consider this a class action suit against Coulter. Everyone who helps him out can feel personally involved. If you think it's a bad plan, tell him that. He seriously wants our opinions on this matter.

"It is the logic of our times
No subject for immortal verse
That we who lived by honest dreams
Defend the bad against the worse."
