Bush Is The One

Poor, poor, King George. His popularity is falling like a nickel tossed off the Empire State Building and I bet y'all just can't figure out why, can you? In an effort to enlighten us blue-spirited souls, I am happy to present the answers that have so smarmibly eluded our insight. Thanks to Kenneth Server of Prescott Valley, Arizona, who's Letter to the Editor of the Arizona Republic sets us all straight:

Bush a Victim of Spin, Distortions

Recent poll numbers show President Bush's popularity at an all time low of 32 percent.

I would like to be counted as a staunch Bush supporter and a member of (that) 32 percent club.

In my eyes, no matter how educators, the press, TV commentators and so-called "experts" twist the facts, distort the news and bash my president with accusations and blame, you can not obscure reality and that is: the economy is solid; Osama bin Laden is holed up in a rathole somewhere, and Iraq is doing its best to shake off the shackles of terrorism while reaching out for a piece of freedom and democracy.

The ridiculous blaming of the president for the high price of gasoline, Katrina, immigration, global warming, etc., brings to mind a picture taken at a political rally, when Richard Nixon was running for president, of a very pregnant woman wearing one of those front-and-back billboard poster signs that stated, "Nixon is the One."
Personally, I feel Mr. Server must live in a rathole of his own where he receives no newspapers, no TV stations other than Fox News, and does not discuss politics with anyone other than his grandchildren who've yet to begin school. He sounds like the same political genius who leaked the story that Rummy was to be replaced by Julius Dithers of the J.C. Dithers Company - a story that has somehow eluded Fox News, but has raised a level of hope among us blue people everywhere.

It's good for us Bluies to be reminded that people like Mr. Server exist out there. Otherwise we might jump to the conclusion that the presidential race in '08 will be a cake walk. I doubt if his opinion of King George would change even if the Bush were to give Mexico the states of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California as a solution to the border problem.

I will say one thing concerning Mr. Server's comments. He certainly picked the right president to compare with George Bush - that being Richard Nixon. Do you think it was a lucky guess on his part or might there be something to the comparison?
