Get Out the VoteIf you need a good reason to get out and vote in the midterm elections in November, the Washington Post has one in today's edition...Confronting the worst poll numbers seen in the West Wing since his father went down to defeat, President Bush and his team are focusing on the fall midterm elections as the best chance to salvage his presidency and are building a campaign strategy around tax cuts, immigration and national security...So let me see if I understand this. After "winning" the election in 2000 by the barest of margins, he governs as if he won a mandate. Then, in 2004, he "wins" again by another nose, declares that he now has "political capital" to spend and acts like he has another mandate. Now Mr. 29%, head of one of the most secretive, incompetent, corrupt, unpopular administrations ever, a man in the running for worst president ever, is gearing up to declare yet another mandate and advance a fresh agenda??? Give me a break. | +Save/Share | | |
