Why Are Dems So Stupid In Election Years?
It isn't real hard to understand what the people want in regards to the immigration issue clanking around Congress these days. Almost every poll shows that the voters want secure borders BEFORE any kind of guest worker/amnesty plan is even talked about. Not so hard to understand, is it?
Here are the facts the Dems should be looking at:
1. Most of the House Republicans (all of whom are up for election are FOR securing the borders first.
2. Senate Republicans up for election (like Kyle from Arizona) are for securing the border and those that won't be up for election until '08 (like McCain from Arizona) seem to be backing the President's Amnesty plan.
3. The Dems have been calling the Bush out for his stupid, middle-class destroying policies for the past six years. How could they think that this president, now, could suddenly be so right about amnesty?
Democrats have always been for the li'l guy and they see the Hispanic families trying to make something out of nothing in this country as li'l guys. It's understandable they want to make things right for these people. BUT. They need to be for securing the border FIRST. They need to use some common sense and NOT support George W. Bush's point of view. If they continue doing it, Karl Rove will eat them for lunch in the midterm elections and Congress will remain in Repubo control. Repubos are NOT for helping the Hispanics. They're for cheap labor. They're for exploitation of workers - not helping them to become legal. It doesn't matter if the Dems are for the li'l guy. If they line up with the Bushites on this it will appear as if they want to exploit the Hispanic workers in favor of big business as well. It will look like they are soft on protecting America's borders, hence soft on national security. And if you think Rove won't use this against them, you're living in a fantasy world.
With a li'l over four months until the elections, it's NOT the time to be backing Bush on ANYTHING. Damn! It's common sense. Wake up, people!
