Godless atheistic liberal judges strike again

Another reminder that the Christian Right's intention to impose their own church-dictated version of sexual morality even on straight people, even if they are opposed to abortion and gay marriage, comes in North Carolina Judge Lowers Great Moral Standard by Rev. Mark Creech Christian Post 07/25/06.

The "great moral standard" in this case being that employers should have the discretion to fire someone if their private, adult, heterosexual sex lives are not conducted in accordance with the standards of Christian fundamentalists.

In this case, a North Carolina superior court had ruled against a county sheriff's department who forced a female employee out of her job because the little slut was shacking up with her boyfriend. Rev. Creech is outraged at the court's decision. He quotes a paper from an organization he heads:

All of these state laws complement one another as part of a seamless state policy that emphasizes marriage as the appropriate context for sexual activity. At a minimum, North Carolina's law prohibiting cohabitation sends the message that in this state, marriage is an institution that should be encouraged and protected. ... Promoting marriage and sexual activity within marriage is a policy that encourages what is best for society and, in turn, what is best for the state."
He explains the basis on which he wants to legislate for all the rest of us what to do with consenting adult sex partners in bed:

The Seventh Commandment, "Thou shalt not commit adultery," which could also be correctly translated, "Thou shalt not commit sexual immorality," is the Creator's law – an eternal verity that guards the great institution of marriage, the sanctity of the family, and the preservation of society. God didn't give this law simply because, as someone said, "Everything that's fun is either fattening or sinful." God gave this law because it's the only way that sex works properly.
He doesn't tell us if his new translation of the Hebrew also means, "Thou shalt only use the missionary position".

This is today's Republican Party. Please, one of you "libertarian" Republicans tell us again how, oh, no, Republicans don't really support this kind of stuff.

"It is the logic of our times
No subject for immortal verse
That we who lived by honest dreams
Defend the bad against the worse."
