What Does It Really Mean?

I listened to a lot of the pundits this morning trying to explain yesterday's primary in Connecticut. Many say it means that the country is a lot more antiwar that they actually knew, but if the politicians would merely look at the polls, I think that this is something that they would have known. Some folks have dismissed the Democrats of Connecticut as crazy left-wing liberals, but yikes, the last time I was there, I couldn't even find a decent gay bar. If you're looking for some wild liberal action, you should cross the state line and look in New York.

I'm not a pundit, (today I'm a plumber trying to get the new toilet hooked up) but I think that yesterday's primary is more of a vote against incumbency, and the present Congress that does nothing in these times when we are feeling that there is need for urgent action on so many issues. The approval rating for Congress is much lower that the President's approval rating, and this is not great news for anyone in Congress. Americans much like you and I are busy working, struggling with everyday things like the rent, rising prices and stagnant wages, and the freaking toilet that doesn't work. We elected these people to work for us, and they have sold us out by working for themselves and rich donors, and we are sick of it.

If the Democrats actually take back the House and the Senate in the fall, I hope they have a plan, because there are many things that are broken in this nation.

To the Democrats I say good luck and godspeed, but when you come to work, you'd better bring some hammers and nails.

This nation is in desperate need of repair.
