Unclear on the concept? You can hardly make stuff like this up, it's so weirdly ironical: La María de la película 'Natividad' no ha sido invitada a la 'première' en el Vaticano El Mundo 15.11.06.Keisha Castle-Hugues of Whale Rider fame plays the Virgin Mary in a new film called Natividad (Nativity). As most will recall, Mary became pregnant by miraculous means. Her fiance Joseph married her anyway, after being counseled by an angel on the matter, and took her off somewhere else to have the baby. The new film has its premiere in the Vatican on November 26. But the main star, Castle-Hugues, won't be invited. You see, she's 16 years old, unmarried, and, uh, pregnant. This kind of irony only happens in real life. If a comic made it up, it would seem like it was too silly and heavy-handed to be funny. Actually, it's only funny in real life in a dark-humor, "how can the Vatican be so bone-headed?" kind of way. Tags: Keisha Castle-Hugues, natividad
