Quote of the DayI've never understood it, either:"I never understand that question," answered Charlie Rangel, the incoming chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. "You have a President that’s in deep shit. He got us into the war, and all the reasons he gave have been proven invalid, and the whole electorate was so pissed off that they got rid of anyone they could have, and then they ask, 'What is the Democrats' solution?"It's like a driver who ignores his passengers' warnings, puts the pedal to the metal and as the car hurls over the cliff into a fiery crash, turns around and asks them, "so how do you get us out of this mess, smartass"? Bush and the Republicans take responsibility for nothing, even though the electorate has demonstrated last November that they know who owns this war. All in the name of political viability. What's foremost in their minds isn't untangling us from the deadly disaster they've got us into in Iraq, but how best to avoid being blamed for it. Tags:
