A number of Mexican bands, among them the well-known Maná and Los Tigres del Norte, are actively protesting against the Cheney-Bush administration's plan for a wall along the US/Mexican border: Todos contra la pared: Bandas mexicanas que se oponen al muro de Bush La Nación (Argentina) 09.03.07.

Alex González of Maná poses a sensible question:

Si fueran a construir el muro, ¿quién va a construirselo? ¿John or Johnny? ¿O va a ser Pepe, José, Felipe? ¿Van a ser los mismos latinos? Es ridículo.

[If they're going to build the wall, who's going to build it? John or Johnny? Or is it going to be Pepe, José, Felipe? Is it going to be Latinos themselves? It's ridiculous.]
