Urgent business for the Senate!!!

The Senate needs to get on the ball early Monday morning and condemn this shocking insult to the patriotic feelings of the vast majority of Americans. Via Steve Benen at TPM, it's a choir who sang at last week's "Value Voters" shindig to warm applause from the Christian Republican activists there. Their song is called "Why Should God Bless America?"



It's got to be an urgent priority of the US Senate to condemn this horrible outrage. All Republicans should immediately "distance themselves" from it, obviously.

Remember after the 9/11 attacks when Democratic and Republican members of Congress gathered on the Capitol steps to sing "God Bless America"? And the media took it to be a moving event showing bipartisan unity and patriotism?

And now this! The future of the Republic is at stake!! I hope the Senate jumps on this shocking, shocking display and condemns it immediately. Shoot, maybe they should even write a law making it a felony to parody "God Bless America".

Heck, even Mark Shields may be able to rouse himself to protest this horror!
