City of Satan? Really?

John McCain has renounced two nutjob preachers. Maybe he should also renounce referring to our capital city as "the city of Satan".

From today's NY Times:

At a speech last year before Mr. Hagee’s Christians United for Israel, he thanked Mr. Hagee for his “spiritual guidance to politicians like me” and said, “It’s hard to do the Lord’s work in the city of Satan.”

Reminds me of Osama bin Laden - sure doesn't sound much like straight talk to me...
