The 100 Years WarFrank Rich in the NY Times, commenting on John McCain's record of support for the invasion of Iraq, and his record of foolish optimistic assessments from 2003 forward: To finesse this embarrassing record, Mr. McCain asks us to believe that the only judgment that matters is who was “right” about the surge, not who was right about our reckless plunge into war. And, on the "success" of the surge: If “we are winning” and the surge is a “success,” then what is the rationale for keeping American forces bogged down there while the Taliban regroups ominously in Afghanistan?Good questions, no?
