Thoughts on Friendship and BipartisanshipIt is important to recognize the truth of Barack Obama's insight - that progress on the great issues of our day will require men and women of goodwill to be larger than our partisan grudges and loyalties. Thus: I am a friend to any man who will work with me to realize the American Dream for all of my neighbors, for all the families of America, with compassion and assistance for those who need our help, and with profound respect for our innate equality, our individual liberties, and the opportunity for each American to participate fully in the democratic processes of this great and blessed Republic. John McCain falls short of this standard (in more ways than I care to recite at this moment), and he is therefore not my friend. | +Save/Share | | |
