AuraI hadn't heard about this singer before today. But then she just put out her first album, called Columbine. She's a Danish singer who describes her music as something like electronic tradtional folk. Both these songs are in English. She has a My Space page. I kind of like what I've heard of her songs so far. I mean, she's not Britney Spears or something. But she sounds pretty good. This a live version of "Song for Sophie". Her spoken intro is in Danish. The song itself is in English. This song reminds me a bit, thematically at least, of Nanci Griffith's "There's a Light Beyond These Woods, Mary Margaret", about a childhood friend of hers who passed away several years ago. This one is "I will love you Monday". This one kind of reminds me of the Leadbelly song that starts off, "On a Monday, I was arrested/On a Tuesday, I got locked up in jail": Tags: aura | +Save/Share | | |
