What Goes Around....I'm loving life today. Don't get me wrong, things are seriously messed up in this country, and the state of the economy continues to scare the crap out of me, but I look at it this way: I'd rather be broke, than have the country back in the hands of the Republicans. If you look at just the past few weeks, we've got science back on the right track, and most of our troops will soon be out of Iraq. It's not perfect, but I think we're heading in the right direction. It took George W. 8 years to screw things up this badly, so I think we ought to give Obama at least one term to fix them. And I'm confident that he will.I have a different view of the Republican loudmouths. Bruce notes with concern that the mainstream press continues to give them a voice, but I honestly think that the more these guys sound off, the better it is for Democrats. The Republicans deserve to be represented by Rush Limbaugh, and every time he opens his mouth, they dig the hole a little deeper, the better to bury them. The idiots at CNBC who are screaming about helping Americans stay in their homes, are the same ones begging the White House to protect the stock-holders who have made bad investments in those blue chip stocks that are now like penny stocks, for example GE, the parent company of CNBC. GE, is trading at less than $10 dollars a share, after receiving $140 billion from the taxpayers last November. Jim Cramer and Rick Santelli resent giving homeowners a break on interest rates, but support giving GE, $140 billion in loans at zero percent interest. They are probably pretty heavily invested in GE stock, which is nearly worthless right now. Today I'm thinking back to 2004, when Iraq War protesters, such as myself, were called un-American, or even worse, traitors. Today, we can shove that same patriotic stick up the ass of Rush Limbaugh and his fellow Republicans for wanting the President to fail, bringing down the whole country with him. Democrats and liberals should be celebrating every time Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck say another stupid thing, but that's not all we should be saying. Republicans want this country to fail. This is the truth. And we should be shouting it at the top of our lungs. | +Save/Share | | |
