Ignoring the ObviousOkay so over the past couple of days, beginning on Friday, gun violence has made the headlines again.13 people killed in Binghampton NY, and 3 police officers shot to death in Pittsburgh PA. As drug wars threaten our very borders, and Mexican officials struggle to contain the killing, it is our very own weapons, made in the USA, and our flawed gun control laws that threaten our citizens. Does anyone else think it's time to pass some serious gun control legislation, or should we wait for the next bloodbath? Progressive law makers have got about 17 months before the midterms, and Obama has got maybe a little more time than that before he has to run again, so maybe it's time to take advantage of our majority. Why can't we shove some serious gun legislation through Congress and get rid of these dangerous weapons before we all kill each other? As the economy deteriorates, crime becomes an employment option for those with no good choices for jobs. It is happening in Pittsburgh, and New York, and on a much larger scale, North Korea. It is time to disarm. The small baby steps towards world peace must begin in our own cities and states. We have to get rid of the guns. | +Save/Share | | |
