But, but, a protest might alienate some of the people who hate you

Has there ever been a strike, a labor march, an antiwar rally, a civil rights boycott, any action where ordinary working people fight for their rights and dignity and fair treatment that didn't get advice like this? Protests could backfire San Francisco Chronicle editorial 05/01/06.
