Stupid!

Apparently the citizens of Beelville Texas aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. As the reality of Peak Oil rears its ugly head to all of us, the citizens of Beelville Texas are making a stand. They are boycotting the world's largest oil company, Exxon Mobile:

The boycott against the world's largest oil company will continue until gas is down to $1.30 a gallon, said County Judge Jimmy Martinez, the county's highest elected official.

Obviously they are only speaking of gasoline here since a boycott of all products manufactured or delivered using Exxon Mobil Oil would be nearly impossible. But what's amazing about this is just how immature it is.

Or is it pure genius? After all, if I can convince the rest of you to forgo oil, then the price will go down for me, just so long as you dummies don't try buying any once the price goes down. Hell if we could convince China, India, and Europe to just not use any oil anymore, that would really lower the price. What we need is a media campaign to boycott oil in those countries. Then we could drive to the mall and back twenty times a day!
