Police Intimidation

We need your urgent help. The Garden Grove police are missing a flashlight! This is serious stuff. Have you seen it?

The Garden Grove police are so concerned about it that they ordered a search warrant for activist Theresa Dang's house. They searched and searched but it couldn't find it. They flipped over just about everything in her room and went throughout the house but still couldn't find their flashlight!

Why were they searching Theresa Dang's house three weeks after they lost their little flashlight? It's a clear case of police intimidation. Theresa Dang had the audacity to get struck by the van of a minuteman vigilante at a protest against the group in Garden Grove. The police immediately took sides in the clash and started harassing and detaining the protesters, charging five of them with various crimes. Theresa Dang then had the guts to present a letter to the DA asking that all charges against her fellow protesters be dropped.

The result? She's charged with petty theft and has her house ransacked by the police of Garden Grove for a stinking flashlight! This flashlight costs all of about $23 at Sears. How much money did these idiots waste trying to harass Ms. Dang? Read her story here. Duane Roberts summed it up:

In one of the worst cases of political repression ever seen by the author of this article, the Orange County District Attorney's Office and Garden Grove Police Department have jointly launched an unprecedented and outrageous attack against a young Vietnamese woman whose only real crime was to express her dissent with the powers that be.

We are living in very scary times. Dissent is being marginalized. We have to keep speaking out. We have to keep standing up to tyranny in its many forms. And we have to organize and unite.
