Power PlaysMari wrote up an entry last night about the events scheduled for Thursday in connection with the Downing Street Memo, specifically Senator John Conyers's hearings and the rally. In quoting the AfterDowningStreet.org press release, she left out one small bit of information. If you read it, you might be wondering why Conyers is holding the meeting at 430 S. Capitol St. SE in Washington, which is the site of the Democratic National HQ, instead of on the Hill. Let's look at that again with the missing info...On Thursday June 16, 2005, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Wasserman Room at 430 S Capitol St. SE, Washington, D.C., Rep. John Conyers, Jr., Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, and other Congress Members will hold a hearing on the Downing Street Minutes and related evidence of efforts to cook the books on pre-war intelligence. Apparently there's been a little interparty feuding going on for quite a while in the Senate Judiciary Committee. The Hill explains what's going on between Conyers and Chairman James Sensenbrenner, one of our favorite freedom-hating Repubs. | +Save/Share | | |
