Take a Hike"If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen."-- Henry David Thoreau Going into the weekend, a thought lifted from another blog, that of a younger blue voice. The environment is not really my beat here at TBV, but this weekend I will be canoeing with some Boy Scouts on the Delaware near Narrowsburg NY. Last time we went up there a blad eagle flew right over my canoe -- quite a thrill for this Jersey boy. Sometimes I wonder if we would not all be environmentalists if we just spent more time in the enjoyment of our natural surroundings. Have a great weekend. Neil | +Save/Share | | |
