The Christian Way of Selling News

It's illuminating to visit Pat Robertson and his people from time to time, it clarifies things that are otherwise entirely baffling. I've been landing on the planet of CBNNews (Christian Broadcasting Network) lately, to see what makes Pat run. It's truly scary, and you need to make sure you have a full tank of oxygen, but, I repeat, it is enlightening. There are two articles, written after Pat's fatwah on Chavez, that are not incidental. They are explanations of why Hugo Chavez might need to be taken out by Special Ops some dark and stormy night.

The information in these two pieces is completely undocumented, unsourced, and, to a believing follower of the 700 Club, might sound pretty nasty. I've been doing a lot of reading on Chavez lately, and nowhere reputable have I read anything remotely resembling these charges. Who can believe this is accidental, or just a slip of the tongue in a moment of frustration, or yada yada? Call me a conspiracy theorist (go ahead, I dare you), but I think this is deliberate action on the part of "Christian" Right.
