Stand--Up Guy

Bill Frist stands up to Bush on stem cell research and all I can think is he checked the polling data. This is the same nimrod who felt it was somehow appropriate to second-guess a Florida woman's doctors from the floor of the US Senate. Such courage!

John McCain stands up to Bush on the abuse of detainees and I think how much better off we might all be had he won the GOP nomination in 2000.

Not too many people have been willing to stand up to Bush. Ask Joe Wilson about it. Or Richard Clarke, or General Eric Shinsecki. Or Paul O'Neill.

So I guess I have to applaud Bill Frist. Listen closely to the sound of one hand clapping.
