Exposing the Big LieSo okay, the plot thickens. The speculation about the Niger document may be based on fact after all. Of course, we'll not know for sure until indictments are handed down, but there is apparently some truth to the rumor of Fitzgerald's actually having viewed the report of the investigation made by the Italian government into the forged documents."NATO sources told United Press International Monday that Fitzgerald's team of investigators has sought and obtained documentation on the forgeries from the Italian government." Is the shit truly hitting the fan? And who will get splattered? Before we begin to celebrate the truth coming to light, maybe we should all just contemplate what these big lies actually made possible. Illegal war, 2000 American soldiers dead. An unknown number of Iraqi civilians dead. Torture and dishonor of our armed forces and the good name of Americans everywhere. Thousands of soldiers disabled. Chaos in the most important oil producing region in the world. The work ahead of us in correcting this abominable mistake is overwhelming and quite possibly impossible. What punishment is fit for this crime? | +Save/Share | | |
