Will the Real Energy Hogs Please Stand Up?

Day before yesterday I wrote a sarcastic little piece about the DOE's plan for teaching us all about energy conservation - the cartoon character "Energy Hog," complete with website, media ads, biker outfit and skanky hair. That same day I received an email from Save Our Environment, a compendium of environmental groups working together on legal action, asking me to send a letter to my congressman about the "new energy bill" that the administration is concocting, using recent weather catastrophes as a blind.

Today Kelpie Wilson has a piece in Truthout.org (she's the environmental editor there) called "Energy Hog Lessons." It's a consise articulation of exactly what our prize-winning energy hogs in the industry are trying to put over on us, the consumers, with the enthusiastic help of the administration and the Congress.
