A War Bush couldn't be bothered to winNobody in the White House gives a shit what happens in Iraq. Bush can't be bothered to make sure there are enough Troops there, that there is enough equipment, that there are enough trained speakers of Arabic, that there is enough management attention to make sure the important tasks get done. For a guy with an MBA, he doesn't seem to know shit about execution and accountability. For Rumsfeld still to be on the job is proof positive that Bush can't be bothered to win this fucking war. Therefore it is a crime to keep our Troops there one minute more than they have already done. Some poor soldier or Marine is going to get killed tomorrow for absolutely nothing, and we are all to blame for it. Bush won't do what it takes to win -- or he would already have done it. So what the hell are we doing there, except sacrificing lives to an illusion? To let the Troops stay on when it is clear that there is no plan, there is no leadership, and there is no point, is to murder them in cold blood. After all this time, isn't it clear that Bush cannot get the job done? Isn't it clear he won't even try? Isn't it clear that we are going to leave in six months or a year -- and that the only thing that delay will produce is more unnecessary death? If we are not willing to do what it takes to succeed, and the last three years are proof of that, then there is no excuse for staying. None. | +Save/Share | | |
