More On Activist Judges

Just to be clear. Up in Albany, NY, the state's Supreme Court recently heard four cases seeking full marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples.

One of the seven judges that sits on that court recused himself, meaning he stepped down from hearing the case, because his daughter is involved on the pro-gay side of the issue.

Yet, if this court upholds the rights of gays to marry, you can bet your cheeseburgers that the religious right will scream and holler about activist judges.

There was even a deep discussion on both sides concerning the role of the court and the legislature involving changes in New York's marriage laws.

The decision will be interesting. Let's wait and see.

"It is the logic of our times
No subject for immortal verse
That we who lived by honest dreams
Defend the bad against the worse."
