Nailing terrorists, the Abu Gonzales Way

Steve Soto at The Left Coaster has been on this Miami dumb-cultist-terrorist-wannabees story:

1. If we really face a threat from homegrown terrorists like these dupes, then doesn't this blow a hole in the "we need to fight them over there so that we don't have to fight them over here" defense? I mean, why keep 130,000 troops in Iraq as targets when we could bring the Guard home to fend off these Bin Laden wannabes?

2. If this really is the threat we face, then instead of spending billions on the Department of Homeland Security to botch security screening and hurricanes, why didn't we just flood the streets with thousands of folks wearing shirts that say "Ask Me About Al Qaeda"?

3. After hearing that the earlier "threat" the Bush Administration dealt with involved "terrorists" who wanted to take apart the Brooklyn Bridge with blowtorches (or something like that), and now we see these rocket scientists, why do our homegrown terrorists seem so dumb as compared to the real deal of 9/11?

4. I guess Alberto thinks that by taking credit for this today, Al Qaeda will think twice before using that "let's approach some angry black people" angle again, huh?
