White House Film FestBlue Voice compadre FDTate alerted me to some fun being had over at the Huffington Post. We all know by now that it was a movie that woke Dubya up to his first environmental action, the enormous Hawaiian Marine Sanctuary (and, as Wonky says, let's not hold our breath on this becoming reality until we see how/if it is funded). I remarked in a comment on a post of Duane's that we need to get Dubya watching more documentaries. Arianna Huffington had exactly the same idea, and put forth this proposal: Announcing the First Annual "Inspire George Bush Film Festival."She's got some good ideas of films both old and new, on the environment, war, nuclear power (Dr. Strangelove!), corporate crime. It's an interactive sport, folks, Arianna's asking for our help in compiling this list. There's nothing yet on the list about immigration, so my two additions would be El Norte, and A Day Without a Mexican. Give the HuffPo your suggestions, but please also leave them here. Even if we can't inspire our president to more good actions, maybe we could just keep him busy and out of trouble watching the flicks? | +Save/Share | | |
